Baduy Tribe is part of Indonesia’s Sundanese: as part of another Sundanese for example: Sundanese in Priangan and East Priangan, except the Baduy tribe still uphold the customs that are handed down from ancestors. Baduy Tribe has a belief (religion) Sunda Wiwitan, while other Sundanese average Muslim, although there are also Christians. The language used is a Banten dialect of Sundanese language offerings.

Baduy Tribe residing in the Banten Province, Indonesia around mount of Kendeng offerings in the valley at an altitude of approximately 600 m above sea level, exactly is in the Village Kanekes, Leuwidamar district, Lebak regency or Rangkasbitung. Baduy Tribes is divided into two, namely Baduy Dalam (inner) and Baduy Luar (outer). Baduy Dalam (inner) societies that live in Cibeo not allowed to know the technology, while at the Baduy Luar (outer) the contrary; they know a televison. Ethnic livelihoods Baduy is traditional agriculture (shifting cultivation), looking for honey, timber and other forest products. Baduy Tribe is holding firm and always preserving the environment around them, because it assumes that life originated from there.

Baduy Tribe made their own cloth and make clothes; make home using materials originating from the surrounding natural environment. Baduy Tribe is not an isolated tribe but the tribe who maintain their customs. Badui Dalam (inner) usually wears a white dress while the rates for Baduy Luar (outer) is black, but this is not an absolute. Baduy Tribe acknowledges the Indonesian government, and they often go to local governments to do the “Seba” (send goods or gifts).
