Recently in Indonesia flood of information that using hybrid car can reduce the operating costs of vehicles on the road, this may be related to the increasingly high cost of petrol fuel. Hybrid car (in Indonesia called : Mobil Hibrid) is a car that has two main drivers are combined in a suitable combination, and the merger is set automatically follow a system. Hybrid cars are now known to use on the road and this start was popularized in Japan. I once tried a hybrid car on the lot up and down streets in the city of Nagoya, and Aichi Perfecture, Japan in early 2004.

The first engine on the hybrid car is the internal combustion engine that uses fuel, and the second is the engine driving an electric motor powered by electricity from the battery. The second motor is set to use automatically follow the road conditions and power requirements at the time. For example when a car uphill it will need huge power, so that at the time the work is a petrol engine. In contrast to the declining road conditions or only require less power, then in those circumstances is an electric motor will work. This is why hybrid car more fuel efficient (consuming less fuel) than a conventional car.

In addition, hybrid cars are considered more environmentally friendly because at the same with mileage of conventional cars will emit fewer exhaust gases. Electrical energy used in a hybrid car battery that comes from filling done by the combustion engine by utilizing the energy is wasted. Although the batteries in hybrid cars to provide power to the electric motor, but not necessarily recharging lokely in electric cars. Ussualy electris cars needs long time recharging before can be used. Battery in hybrid cars can be filled with the both prime mover, fuel combustion engines, and electric motors. Residual motion energy from the electric motor is also used for charging batteries.

Some people have concerns about the level of safety from the use of hybrid cars, because the engine sounds more refined than conventional car machine. These concerns are given voice barely audible hybrid cars and would cause increased risk of accidents. But keep in mind that hybrid car engines still sound and with the appropriate speed will decrease the risk of accidents. In Japan already widely used hybrid car on the street, and it was not a lot of accident. It could be depend on combination between, the driver, car, and street condition.
